Background & Clinical Experience

My Path

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in California with a private practice in San Diego and over 10 years of experience working in intensive behavioral health settings. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology and began my career specializing in child and adolescent psychology. My clinical experience includes providing individual, group, and family psychotherapy; conducting comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations; and offering clinical training for graduate students. I also continue my role as a psychologist within a behavioral health hospital setting, which informs my grounded, collaborative approach to care.

Over time, my clinical focus expanded to include reproductive mental health, shaped by my own journey through fertility challenges, loss, grief, and donor conception. Alongside specialized training in fertility psychology, reproductive loss, and third-party reproduction, these lived and professional experiences have deepened my empathy and strengthened my commitment to providing thoughtful, respectful, and compassionate care. I am dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate the emotional complexities of fertility treatment, family building, and parenthood with clarity, care, and support.

My work is further informed by a multicultural and internationally grounded perspective. I am trilingual in English, Dutch, and German, half Surinamese (South American) and half German, and was born in the Netherlands. Immigrating to the United States at the age of nine shaped my sensitivity to the ways cultural identity, language, migration, and intergenerational experiences influence emotional well-being, relationships, and the therapeutic process.

If you are navigating twists and turns in your reproductive journey that feel uncertain or emotionally heavy, meaningful psychological support can help ground you, foster resilience, and provide clarity as you move forward.
